Flix Cloud is priced by how much video data you transfer in and out of the service (source video size and transcoded video sizes).
We track the cost of jobs down to the 1000th of a cent.
Starting on November 1st, 2009, each video output file will carry a minimum charge of $0.01000 (one U.S. cent). Video output file charges will still be metered in milli-cents (1/1000th of a cent). The difference will be that, starting on November 1st, a video output file for which we would today charge, say, $0.00620 will cost $0.01000. The minimum applies only to video output files, not input video, watermark (overlay) or thumbnail files.
We don't charge premiums for higher job queue placement, faster processing time, and so on. In Flix Cloud, every encoding job is high priority, and we process every job as fast as possible.
We've put together this handy calculator to help you estimate how much money you can save every month with Flix Cloud. These figures are only an estimate. Your mileage may vary due to different output characteristics, etc. The estimate also does not include sales tax for enterprises based in New York state.
Excellent question! See this example.
Flix Cloud fees include data transfer in & out of Amazon S3, but they do not include S3 storage fees. Amazon S3 storage fees will apply for output files written to your S3 bucket. You are also responsible for incoming data transfer fees when moving data to a non-US S3 bucket.
Payment for transcoding services is by credit card, charged monthly. For more information about the threshold, see our FAQ.
